Had an eye test here. I was seen very quickly, the test was thorough with little time wasted and included colour blind testing (unlike Specsavers) the staff were very friendly, and they also were not trying to add-on sales for things I didn't need (like another highopticians) my glasses are of a good quality and were made very quickly. I'd recommend to anyone looking for a good, stress-free service.

Recently had cataract surgery as a result of Alison referring me to the eye clinic. Thanks to her, I can now see better than I have seen for many years. The eye tests are thorough and staff are helpful in choosing the right frames etc. Not the cheapest, they could be bought online, but I prefer to deal with human beings.

Eye test was thorough and professional. Elected for new lenses in existing frames and was told the lenses would take 10 working days to prepare and 3 days to fit them. For 3 days managing with my old glasses would not be too big an inconvenience. Phoned Y&S having heard nothing by day 4 and was told they would mark them urgent, day 7 I was told they may be ready tomorrow, so called in and was told "will be here tomorrow" when I expressed my displeasure the assistant took the trouble to open a package and there they were. 3 days had become EIGHT days I can best sum up Y&S attitude to all this as mild indifference. Y&S not the cheapest and definitely not the best!

Eye test was done professionally, made to feel very welcome and cared for. I paid 25 for this and it took about 20 minutes. I then asked for my IPD to be measured so I could purchase some glasses I found online. They said it would cost 15 as I was getting the lenses online. A bit expensive I thought but I said ok. I was then rushed into a side room where a lady dropped the somewhat heavy IPD measuring machine on me and then fumbled with it as if she hadn't used it before, jammed it into my cheeks leaving me to lift it so it actually pointed into my eyes.
It felt like it wasn't lined up with my face properly and a second later I was dismissed. It seemed very rushed as if they couldn't wait to get rid of me and like they were doing this as a favour. 15 for 30 seconds time with a 120 machine I'm not even confident was used correctly. Not very happy that. It ruined my opinion of this opticians I have been using for 20 years.
I used to get my contacts and eyes test with this opticians despite there being cheaper alternatives as I felt the quality of care was superior. I will he going else where from now on.

After 10 years as a loyal customer Keith and Martin (Bury branch) let themselves and the company down through their shocking service. It took them 4 retests (over little more than a year) to finally give me the correct prescription - that speaks volumes in itself. It took some persuading but eventually Martin agreed to take responsibility for their mistakes and my significant inconvenience and agreed to remake the glasses to the correct prescription, at their expense.
Or so I thought - until I was hounded by a debt agency. I tried to speak to Keith several times directly but he didn't even have the courtesy to return my calls. So overall the "excellent" customer service they boast about on their website may be so in other branches but from my recent experience the Bury store do not value their customers at all, or take responsibility for the quality of their own service. Very disappointing indeed.
