Very disappointed with the service we've received now for the last few visits so switching to another opticians which has been highly recommended locally.

The service that my daughter and I received was second to none. It is the first time (after many years of wearing glasses) that my teenage daughter has had a positive experience at an opticians. Her autism can cause extreme anxiety which in turn affects her ability to verbally communicate when people she doesn't know talk to her. When I booked our appointments I felt listened to when I explained my daughter's needs which then put me at ease even though my daughter was very anxious about her eye test.

Until today, my daughter has never had a good fitting pair of glasses due to her sensory intolerance which is heightened when she is stressed. The care and understanding from both Jamie and Ian allowed my daughter to stay calm and near me which also allowed time for me to choose my new glasses with Ian's fabulous help. I am so glad that I listened to the recommendations I'd had and booked our first appointments with Robinson and Sproson.

Terrible experience with this place. It was unfortunate as I love supporting my high street. I had a complaint regarding an eye appointment with Martine Scott. Essentially I felt rushed, she did not answer my questions, she was generally quite aggressive and accused me of 'thinking she was lying'. all quite unprofessional really. anyway I left feeling tearful.

When I complained I was told someone would call me to understand further my complaint. Nobody ever called me. Instead I got a rather snotty email from Nic Sproson citing 'personality clash' (despite not seeking my side of the story). In fairness he gave an apology and offered an appt with a different optician (thank you) but I found his manner to be arrogant and disconnected from his customers.

It would have been better to deal with via a phone-call and try to understand my point of view, as after talking to a few friends and neighbours this is not a 'rare' complaint as he tried to make out. Good luck here. Lovely place if you can avoid Nic and Martine. Victoria Hurst

Been using this place for a few years now. It's possible to get some things a little cheaper however the service, back up, thoroughness and all round quality of experience is impossible to value. I won't go anywhere else as long as Mr Robinson (Ian) is there. My prescription is quite challenging. He makes sure I get the right frames and lenses for my needs. Not those that suit the profit margin; unlike some high street franchised multiples. They have the customer/client foremost in their minds. Always a nice coffee too.

My family and I have been going to Robinson & Sproson Opticians for several years now and I cannot recommend them highly enough. I greatly value the expertise and advice of both the optometrist (Mr Sproson) and the optician (Mr Robinson) as I have a 'demanding' eye prescription. Every one of the staff there is accommodating, welcoming and patient.

They are also very good with younger patients too. You can certainly get cheaper glasses and contact lenses in High Street chain opticians but you won't get the quality and follow-up service that you'll get with Robinson & Sproson.
