After studying Ophthalmic Optics at Cardiff University for 3 years, followed by a year training in London, Tony joined the family business in 1977.
We have opened a new clinic in Walsall offering the Coloured Overlay assessment and Intuitive Colorimeter; an instrument designed to identify the optimum coloured lenses required by some individuals who suffer from photosensitive problems, known scientifically as Visual Stress. This condition is the cause of some cases of migraine and is very often the underlying reason why some individuals struggle to read. Such individuals are often wrongly labelled as 'dyslexic'. Dyslexia is an umbrella term for many sensory problems which affect learning.

I am eighty years old and have worn glasses since the age of six, so have encountered a few opticians in my time. Mr. Samuels is the most proficient and caring optometrist I have ever met. If you go to him for a sight test be prepared to spend a fairly long time there, but it is so well worth it. I have been attending this practice for the last few years and on my first visit I was amazed at the difference between this and all my previous experiences. I cannot recommend him highly enough as it's so rare nowadays to find someone who takes such trouble to ensure his patient's wellbeing.

This company says they have been in business since 1899 and Im fairly sure they have not adapted since that time! I asked if they stock Louis Vuitton frames - Tony (the person who picked up the phone) had never heard of Louis Vuitton! He wasn't sure if he could get them in etc. Their website is very misleading because it states that they sell fashionable and designer eyewear yet have not even heard of a very popular designer let alone stock their products.
I already have the prescription but since I work around the corner from the shop thought it would be easy to get them from there, apparently not. May be ok if you want bog standard NHS frames but don't bother contacting them if you are alive in 2018 - well past their sell by date.
