Have a yearly appointment, always feel re-assured before I leave, new prescription given this visit, as I used the same frame they were sent away to fitted with new lense, fitted perfectly, nice & light when worn. Usman and his receptionist is always most welcoming, makes you feel safe & reassurred.

Usman and the team at Johns Opticians are extremely friendly. You aren't rushed during examinations or when choosing frames. They take the extra time to make sure you are happy and understand everything. A wonderful service.

I have had several enjoyable and extremely productive visits recently to this completely professional yet lovely friendly couple. After a 2year spell of absence from their practice, I was in need of some serious update but I was immediately put at my ease and assessed fully. Great care was taken to ensure I was happy with my eventual choice and my glasses have been already very much admired by family and friends!

I have confidence in the after care that will be provided if necessary as nothing seems too much trouble at this impressive local practice plus the ra nge of styles and expertise are innovative-the delightful coffee was much appreciated too as was the regular newsletter that kept spirits up during recent tough times!-a big thankyou to you both!

The overriding experience with Johns Opticians is their desire to provide a high quality service which meets their clients' expectations. Understandably this comes at a price but, like anything else, when it comes to eye health, it is worth paying for the personal attention to detail and service which Usman and his team give to their clients.

Great service, very diligent and caring; always taking the time to enquire and listen. There's as much emphasis on eye health as there is visual acuity. Good explanations given of all the processes involved in the tests. Could benefit from some cheaper options for frames but no problems reglazing existing frames if they are suitable. Super service, highly recommended.

The glasses they provided me were not fit for purpose. Heavily inflated prices at least 300% markup. Don't have the competence to deal with people with complex prescriptions. Wrongly advised. My high prescription warrants glass lenses, and smaller frames. I emailed prior to my first appointment asking if the frames I had chosen on line, with the thinnest of lenses (glass) were suitable for me. Arrived at appointment and told they were fine.

When they arrived, i didn't realise they were plastic lenses.especially not as they charged me over 500 for something I could buy on line (exact same frames etc) for under 120!. They are absolutely horrendous and the screws fail and a number of times these have dropped from my face. The frames are also not appropriate as they are too large for my prescription, and have a massive tunnelling effect which has restricted my vision.

Rather than admitting my glasses were their error, they lied about me needing either separate reading glass, or variofocals. I don't require either. This was merely tactics to get me to spend more money on getting glass lenses (which would have set me back another 200 or so pounds!) I have a very busy work schedule which has hampered getting to the store in a reasonable timeframe to sort, also trust with this opticians has been broken.

Let alone covid, shielding and an operation during the last 11 months. I chose an independent optician because I thought I'd get a more bespoke and profession service. This was never delivered. The staff let me down with the wrong frames, wrong lenses and a pair of glasses NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE which I struggle to read using as the lenses are so thick and distorted. (My previous glasses I can read just fine out of!).

I was unaware I had just 30 days to do something about them even though this outfit was aware I wasn't happy from the beginning and a very hectic work schedule prevented me from doing anything in such a quick turnaround. Pushy even with the sale trying to get me to have sunglasses also rather than dealing with the problem in hand. They refuse to refund any monies so feel I've been ripped off, and completey misold product, so be aware using them.

A really professional and friendly local opticians who I've been going to for over twenty years. They are well equipped so can do the full range of eye tests including field test, and can also photograph the back of the eye to monitor changes over time. Very helpful too when it comes to choosing the right pair of glasses.

I have been with Johns Opticians for a long while. I have stayed because I value their expertise and professionalism. They take care to make the whole customer experience as efficient and effective as possible. I recommend JO as a local provider, they put in the time and get things right. I always leave as a totally satisfied customer.

I have been going to John's Opticians since getting my first eye test 30 years ago, with the exception of a few years living up north. They have always given exceptional service, so it was a no brainer to carry on with Usman when he joined the practice more recently. The staff are always welcoming and friendly, I trust Usman completely with the health of my eyes, and there is never any pressure to buy new frames if I don't need them.

That said, they offer a great range and can find the perfect pair to fit my face every time! I have used the WB and City centre shops and would recommend John's to anyone who is looking for a caring, independent optician.

We have been going as a family since Usman took over the practice and have continued since. It is a really friendly opticians. It is an independent optican and provides that one to one service. It is a really pleasant opticians. Usman and his staff are professional and treat you like family. Yet approachable, Informative and knowledgeable about what glasses will suit you and your overall eye sight/health and eye care. I would recommend him to everyone and say if you want a personal, but professional, non-sales, holistic eye care then johns opticians is for you!

Started coming throughout lockdown as our usual one remained closed all the way through. I will now stay with them. They are fast and professional. Really good with my daughter. Glasses never take long to come. Both receptionists are fantastic ladies.

Been getting my glasses here since I first needed them 14 years ago. Usual first class thorough and pleasant service but I was surprised at the cost of my varifocals which seems to have gone up a lot. Maybe I'm just out of touch with current costs I don't know! Great service but perhaps some cheaper options for those of us who prefer functionality to style?

Have gone to Johns Opticians for years. Always get a thorough eye test and good advise. Amy, the receptionist, was very helpful and very patient with me as it always takes me ages to choose new glasses. Once chosen, my new glasses were ready for collection very quickly. I just wish there was a little more choice of mid priced frames.

Really thorough eye test and very professional. Got some lovely glasses that I've had lots of compliments on. Definitely will be getting my future eye tests and glasses from here. Lovely staff and clean shop.

I've been coming to Johns since the early 1970s and have never failed to be most satisfied with the care and personal attention I've received. They are friendly and reassuring and helpful with their advice and I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them.

Always get a very thorough examination. T The optician seems very knowledgeable and things are clearly and simply explained. Always time for questions. I always leave feeling I am being properly cared for and looked after, been a customer for many years now. Maybe a little more expensive than the chains, but definitely worth it to know to know you're being cared for properly.

I've been going to this opticians for years and I can't recommend them enough. For a start they are much more genuinely and reasonably priced than all the other opticians in the area but on top of that they offer a very personalised service and have a very welcoming family atmosphere. All of the staff are very well trained and extremely helpful and will not only take a great deal of time to advise you on frame selection but will always fit you in if you have any problems or need to see the optician urgently. It's just a very caring and friendly place where they will get to know you as a person and cater to your individual needs, and offer a much pleasanter experience than the larger, more expensive and not always particularly accurate branded optician stores.
