David H Myers Opticians are a group of 5 independent practices located in the North West of England and West Yorkshire. Following the success of Churchtown, our London Street Practice was opened in 1980 and is now the heart and hub of David H Myers Opticians. With the business growing from strength to strength Lytham opened in 1992, shortly followed by Leeds in 1997, and last but not least Penwortham in 2002.

Here's everything you need to know before your appointment. Regular eye exams are important for maintaining good vision and eye health.
Are your eyes constantly red, itchy, or watery? You could be suffering from dry eyes. A fairly common problem, dry eyes occur when your eyes don't produce enough tears or produce poor quality tears, which tend to rapidly evaporate from the surface of the eyes. This is caused by an imbalance in your team film, which is made up of a mucus, water, and oil.
At your next eye exam, your optician may recommend you have an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) scan. An OCT scan provides an in-depth picture of the health of the back of your eye using cutting edge technology. The OCT is an advanced piece of technology that allows us to scan your eye and see what's going on beneath the surface.

I went here for an eye test. The staff were very professional and talked me through all my options for glasses, prescription sunglasses and the use of contact lenses should I want to use them. A staff member sat with me for such a long time making sure I could correctly fit and remove the contacts correctly and safely. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

I’ve been going to DH Myers for a few years now and have never failed to be satisfied with their service. Their professionalism is second to none and the eye exam with its various tests is comprehensive and is carried out in a friendly fashion. I always feel if there was a problem my optician would spot it. They have a wide range of glasses from budget through to high end designer. I currently have a pair of varifocals and a pair of sunglasses, couldn’t be more pleased.
