A sight test is a vital health check - it's not simply to see whether you need visual correction or not. A thorough eye examination will not only reveal the health of your eyes, it will also provide important information about your general health. In addition to checking for cataracts, glaucoma, colour and field of vision, our optometrists will look for signs of other health problems, such as high blood pressure and diabetes.

Been with you guys for over 10 years, absolutely fantastic service, Ian is very knowledgeable and reassuring of the eyes and it eases my autism. Help where he can, and brilliant to have as my eye specialist. I have visual stress disorder due to the autism I have. Ian made sure my eyes can still look through purple lens couldn't ask for better service. Chose another frame but black, needed a upgrade :) thankyou all for looking after a long term customer :)

I REALLY liked it here. I felt like I mattered and not just on a conveyer belt, like I did at the big chain where "shoulda gone to". Not too sure on the prices, but compared to my usual opticians there wasn't much in it. The other place used to be the price you saw was the price you paid, but now with the extras, ie reactions, thin lens, coatings, the size of the varifocal, and whatever else I've forgotten it's rare that you pay that price. No, I think I'll stick to Parkhurst. It's nice to feel important for half an hour.

I've been with parkhurst for about 10 years now and I'm usually satisfied. I have paid a lot of money as I'm a full time student to have my glasses anti glare as I struggle seeing when they don't have it on. I was in a rush about a week ago when I went to pick them up and pay so I didn't pay much attention. When I got home the light going into my eyes gave me a head ache to which I phone and said my glassed don't have what I paid for and they said they'd ring me back with details why.
I never got a call back 8 rang them the next day and they told me they will be here by Friday so I left it over the weekend as I work all weekend and can't escape work. I've just got off the phone with a woman that had so much attitude with me saying there's nothing on your file about this so now I have to ring up again tomorrow which is Tuesday and I'm actually so discussed man.
I love this place always sweet and I've recommended them to everyone I know. I'm a student that paid 25 pound for something I never got. I'd recommend going but make sure you get what you pay for. Edit- I was given a phone call today by Ian himself and was lovely. They will refund me and I will continue my service to them. I would highly recommend as they sorted my situation out and have been kind enough to help me out. Thank you Ian it means a lot.

I visited this opticians in 2012 paid for by my employer. It was a routine eye test to check if I needed glasses. At the time I experiencing a recurring conjunctivitis problem being dealt with by a doctor. This problem turned into a opportunity for the optician to sell me a ton of other products. Ranging from a eye mask to dry eye cream and also telling me I had a slight problem in 1 of my eyes which needed a pair of prescription glasses.
At the time I accepted I needed these. I'm not a optician I don't know any better. Later I called my doctor advising me to tell me I don't need any of these products. A year later I found out by a boots optician I didn't have any problems with my eyes at all. Which made sense as those glasses gave me a hand ache. After putting up a fight I got a refund for the 'stuff' they said I needed. This opticians isn't looking out for your eyes or your welfare. There looking to fleece you by selling products you don't even need. AVOID!

After being recommended by 2 friends to go to this opticians, I finally decided to go. Getting an eye test was easy. The eye test went great and Ian was very helpful in finding out what Specsavers had failed to see for 4 years. However, when it came to picking frames the assistant didn't listen, because of my dark hair, dark frame's are my only option and she kept providing colour frames.
She said she'd order some in and contact me when they were in, which she said would be in the next day. A week later and my headache was too much to bear (caused by my incorrect prescription from Specsavers 2 years before) and I took my prescription and went elsewhere for my frames but not before myself and my friend received attitude from the floor staff that day. Eye test with Ian was excellent. Getting a frame and choice of frames were dreadful. The attitude of the floor staff, equally horrendous.
