Norville Opticians

I recently visited Norville's for the first time to purchase prescription sunglasses and must say that I am highly satisfied with my experience. Dan, Becky and their team provided a friendly welcome and the service was top class in every respect. The sunglasses are great quality and have been expertly fitted, making them very comfortable to wear. My wife and I will definitely be returning for our regular eye examinations.

Called the usual number for Gloucester Medical Eye Centre and was surprised to hear that they had merged with Norville Opticians. Thought I would give them ago sorry to say not happy with the place my old glasses are better than my the new ones I was told I needed by them wasted good money won't be going back. Getting headaches every time I use them

Are used to use the Medical Eye Centre I was incredibly pleased with the service the prices and the efficiency. Sadly I cannot say the same for Norville. Incorrect booking time and date texted through, booked in for the wrong kind of eye test, charged over 500 for a pair of glasses and I bought the same specifications from glasses direct for 190. The glasses from glasses direct arrived before the ones from Norville despite the fact that they were ordered on the same day!

The glasses direct ones are just as good if not slightly better than the ones from Norville and they arrived sparkling and new - the same cannot be said for Norville which arrived marked and sticky. After this awful experience I am off to The Vision Centre in Gloucester which is got top reviews and is highly recommended by loads of local people. I will never to return to Norville accept to pick up my glasses which they're supposed to be repairing and I am still waiting for

I recently visited Norville Opticians in Gloucester for the first time. Having worn glasses for many years, I found them to be extremely thorough, knowledgeable and friendly, both in testing and dispensing. Nothing was too much trouble and the choice of frames, both in style and price were excellent. I am delighted with my new glasses and would recommend Norville to anyone. I will definitely continue to have my regular check ups and glasses from them.

What a great experience. I'd felt that my vision had changed over lockdown, and wanted to go somewhere that wasn't a chain. I'm always unsure about what glasses to choose but the optician and assistant weren't pushy and i've now got the best fitting pair i've had in years. Well done Norville!

I used to use Gloucedter Medical Eye Centte an all was fine, they were taken over or merged with norvills and boy what a difference first a contact lens check up was initially 49 then when I phoned again as they were to busy to give me an appointment they said it's now 90 as you haven't had new lenses for such a long time what a rip off stay well clear and more than half the price elsewhere

I have complex lens problems and I have been incredibly impressed with the way that the team have sought to meet my needs and have found a solution which leaves me in a strong position. The service is personalized and the absence of buying pressures is refreshing. Thank you.

The team have supported our family ( 5 of us in glasses out of 6!) since we adopted our "unplaceable" son with challenging behaviour, downs, partial sight and autism. They have always been ace with our son and indeed all of us and we have had a great collection of specs in colourful designs including many many small replacements in the early days :) Shall never forget buying red to go with son's red school jumper, blue to go with my hair streaks (young!) and then the progression into varifocals. The hospital first told us it was a good place set up by their retired consultant - Well recommended.

Lovely Opticians, friendly, professional. The most thorough eye tests I've ever had. Frames can be cheaper elsewhere but you get what you pay for. Brilliant aftercare.

I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff at the centre. I have been a client of there's for many years, and have always found the staff courteous, professional and friendly. They try there hardest to accommodate all requests. They also recently arranged an emergency referral to the hospital, it was handled quickly and with flexibility so I didn't have to wait around for the referral letter. Thank you.

The company where I work called in Norville's opticians for eye-tests this week, and I was extremely impressed by them. As a life-long spectacle-wearer I have been in and out of opticians for years, but this was the most thorough and informative experience of an optician I have ever had. The lady optician explained each step extremely thoroughly and was very pleasant, she also offered me good advice regarding a few queries that I had regarding possible eye surgery and types of eye problems. I was so impressed that I felt I must visit their website to comment.

I have been coming here for years and the staff have always been helpful and polite. I wouldn't go anywhere else as they provide high quality care.

This building is not accessible to anyone with physical disabilities, and the staff are rude and tell lies in order to force you to buy glasses through their shop. There are many steep steps to enter the building, and narrow corridors. I use a wheelchair so I cannot get into the building at all, but even a walking frame or cane user would struggle to get in to see the optician.

When I pointed out that they legally had to make allowances for disabilities, the optician suggested that the receptionists speak to me in the street! I don't want to conduct my business in the street, and besides that I can't get an eye test or choose any glasses in the street! I asked that they give me my pupil distance measurements, since I can't access the building.

I have already bought frames from them in the past year, but they were bad quality and fell apart with the arms falling off! So I need to order a new pair online. The optician refused to give me this information by lying and saying that there was a law against it. I ended the phone call, researched this, and found that it was completely untrue. I then called back and confronted the optician, telling him that I had discovered that there was no law against telling me my measurements, and that everything he had said was untrue.

I could tell he already knew that he was lying from his reaction when I confronted him. He started talking about how all their online reviews are so amazing, so I said that I would share my negative experience in an online review in that case! They simply want to force me to buy glasses through their shop, even though the last pair of glasses they sold me fell to pieces! Stick with a known and trusted chain, this place isn't trustworthy.

EXCELLENT SERVICE! Wide choice of spectacles. Follow up care good.
