At the age of 23, Alain Mikli founded his own company with the stated mission to launch a new era for eyewear, a time when vision needs would no longer be in conflict with style and the notion of glasses as prosthesis would forever disappear and be replaced with true "jewelry for the eyes". It was the beginning of the Alain Mikli brand and of the "eyewear designer" concept. Model after model (at least 400 prototypes are created every year), campaign after campaign, he confirms his taste for innovation and provocation.
Cutler and Gross is a visionary British luxury eyewear brand that has been creating sunglasses and opticals for the discerning client with a sense of individual style for 46 years. The brand produces the highest quality frames, all finished by hand with the most meticulous attention to detail, using a wealth of traditional artisan eyewear craftsmanship in its own factory in Cadore, Italy.

A very unwelcoming place. The Assistant Manager seemed completely aloof from the get go. She did not even say hello when I entered and she didn't even say goodbye when I exited. Obviously, the staff here don't seem to have any manners or respect at all. Nonetheless, they seem to have a very good selection of optical frames and sunglasses. Honestly, I would never ever recommend City Opticians to anyone looking for a decent pair of glasses and/or sunglasses. Try visiting Fleet Street or High Holborn for much better optician shops.

Been using this optician since my uni days as it was around the corner from my college, wow 8 years! I have my annual sight test and contact lens appointment here. Everyone is very helpful and not at all pushy with product. I like coming here as I feel like a valued customer and the store isn't horridly stark and bright like a lot of the chain opticians.
