The process of an eye test is simple and thorough. At Hornstein Eyecare, we recommend you have your eyes checked by a specialist at least every 2 years, or more frequently if recommended by your optician. Diabetes can lead to a condition called Diabetic Retinopathy as well as other eye conditions. Regular eye tests can help our Opticians to spot the early signs of this condition and enable you to take action to control diabetes before it damages your body and your eyes.Scottish residents aged between 16 and 60 can have an NHS funded eye examination every two years.
This test helps diagnose glaucoma. It blows a tiny puff of air, measuring eye pressure indirectly by the eye's resistance to the puff. This can approximate your prescription by measuring how light is affected as it reflects through the eye. It is quick and provides a baseline for the optometrist to determine your prescription.
