We provide friendly, professional service to cater for all your family's eyecare needs: Private and NHS eye examinations; contact lenses; glasses - including state-of-the-art digitally designed varifocals and single-vision lenses, and the new seamless digital bifocal; sunglasses; and the Community Optometry Referral Refinement Scheme (CORRS - East Riding patients only). We are also able to screen for visual stress and pattern glare, which may contribute to symptoms of dyslexia, migraine and other headaches. We are specialists in digital FreeForm lenses, which offer greatly reduced distortions compared to conventional stock lenses, as well as being flatter and thinner.
NHS home visit service - if you are unable to leave home unaccompanied, we can come to your home for your eye examination. We don't offer free second pairs or sunglasses, or discounted 'eye tests'; we just offer friendly, professional service and quality eye wear at reasonable prices.

Eye Examinations
Report
Eye examinations are very important as a primary health care screening service, not just for those who wear spectacles. Conditions such as high blood pressure, brain tumours and cancer of the colon can all show signs inside the eyes, as well as local conditions like glaucoma and cataract, so regular eye examinations play a very important role in general health care.
Conditions such as dyslexia, epilepsy and migraine can also be significantly improved by spectacles and tints, but the first step is to have an eye examination.

Home Visit Service
Report
For patients who are unable to leave home unaccompanied, we are able to offer a Home Visit Service to all patients entitled to an eye examination on the NHS. This service, however is limited by NHS regulation, so we need to have at least 48 hours' notice to provide an eye examination at home on the NHS. This service includes all aspects of care we are able to carry out in-practice, including glaucoma screening, and we always bring a selection of frames and can dispense the same wide range of lenses, so less mobile patients can still enjoy the best vision possible.
We are also able to provide a home visit service to private patients.

I was impressed by the optician's professionalism and the thoroughness of his approach. I also felt that he 'went the extra mile', as we say these days; he was most helpful. I had another appointment (an eye test this time) with Mr. Buckingham just recently. Again, I was most impressed by his thoroughness, but also by his subject-knowledge and his willingness to explain his thinking.
