I went to Sinead last Monday for a check up and sineads expertise and quick response to a detached retina had me referred straight away to Altnagelvin . I can't thank Sinead enough as I have in the space of a week had my operation and am on the mend.only for Sinead at McGurks Opticians I would have lost my sight would Highly recommend Sinead at McGurks Opticians.

Within 24 hrs I had an appointment arranged to see a specialist eye Doctor and a operation a few days later . Only for Sinead I cd have lost the sight in this eye . Any one that needs an eyesight test Sinead Mc Gurk and the staff are first class from you walk In the door til you walk back out never mind her beautiful range of designer glasses .

Ladies and gentlemen! I want to ask your opinion what is the best way to act in this situation. On Wednesday 20/10/2021 at about 11am I visited the Sinead Mc Gurk opticians. I was interested in spare temples for my glasses, because one of them broke. My glasses were made in another state. Hazel, one of staff, told me that she can make an order, but the glasses will be repaired in a weeks time.

It didn't suit me, because I needed glasses for Saturday. Then I was offered to buy a new identical frame in the salon for 130 pounds and to transfer the lenses from my broken frame to a new one and promised that in this case the glasses would be ready for Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning, which I would be informed about by phone. One of the temples for glasses costs about 30 pounds and I offered to pay more if salon could repair my frame by Friday.

But I have been told that it will take a week to repair. I agreed to buy a new frame from opticians. They didn't call me on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning. At 4pm on Thursday I called optician myself. I find out that my glasses will be ready only on Friday ( they will call me when glasses arrive). And I must pay for the special delivery to workshop (20).

If I have any questions, when I come to pick up my by glasses, I can talk to the owner of Sinead opticians - she will explain everything to me or wave the charge/additional fee. Today, on Friday, when I tried to collect my glasses I spoke with the owner of opticians, who explained to me, that I have to pay another 20, because according to her, she acting in my best interests by voluntarily ordering shipping of the glasses (20).

She made such a decision without first informing me about or consult with me. She didn't call me, because was very busy. Also didn't give me the glasses, even I paid for the new frame. My old frame and lenses cost 250. I will get it back only after I pay additional fees (20). Is it possible to be so self willed : make an independent decision without asking the client or without advise /instructions from the client!?!

Sinead and her wonderful front of house team are amazing! The kids love going; she is so kind and patient with them and the staff make the appropriate level of fuss that the kids are very much their central focus when we visit. A trip to the Optician is now something they enjoy rather than dread!

My wife and I got new glasses from Sineads. Great service. Friendly staff and really comfortable and safe surroundings. My glasses are brilliant. Nothing too much trouble and aftercare is excellent.

From the moment I walked into the opticians I was made very welcome by all the staff. Had my eye test done expertly by Sinead. Then Stephen helped me find the correct frames and lenses to suit my eyes. I just love my new glasses as they are so light to wear and also, more importantly, I can see so much more! Cannot recommend Sinead and her team enough. Always so professional and nothing ever a problem. Great with my boys especially my youngest who doesn't sit still for too long but they always so patient.
Fabulous range of glasses

My daughter Emma has hydrocephalus and has a shunt fitted from 11 days old. Emma has attended several clinics at the RVHSC and has received excellent care. We started taking Emma to Sinead just before her 4th birthday where she received the same level of care and understanding she has received from the various doctors she had seen since birth. Around this time last year we booked a routine appointment to have Emma's eyes checked for new glasses.

I can't stress enough how important it is to have your eyes and your children's eyes tested regularly. What turned out to be a regular eye test revealed my daughter needed a full shunt revision. While Sinead was checking Emma's eyes she noticed an irregularity and told me to get her checked by a doctor immediately. This random eye test resulted in Sinead seeing my daughter had a serious problem which had she not have noticed could have had life changing issues for Emma.

Thanks to Sinead and the doctors and nurses at the Royal Emma made a great recovery. We all need to understand that having our eyes tested isn't just about needing glasses or our sight in general. Having a regular eye test could save your life. Thank you to Sinead and all your fantastic staff for everything you have done for myself and Emma.
