Lovat Short Optometrists We are independent Opticians with two established practices, based in Radstock (Lovat Short Optometrists) and Worle, Weston-Super-Mare (Carpenters Optometrists).

Our priority has always been making sure that we have the freedom to take as much time with clients as they really need, to fully understand their eyes and vision. We put their best interests first and seek to build long-lasting relationships; we know it's important to have an Optician you can trust to look after your eyes, whether you need glasses or not.

We are committed to continually modernising and updating our service and equipment, to ensure we are able to provide the high standards of professional care you deserve.

We are the proud owners of an OCT retinal scanner in Radstock. OCT represents the very latest in eye care technology and is only available in a few pioneering practices. See our website for more details! http://www.carpenters-optometrists.co.uk/index.php?page=oct

Our staff are employed for their friendly, professional manner and enthusiasm for doing a great job. We feel it's really important to have registered Dispensing Opticians on hand to make sure we're providing the best visual correction for your needs, however complex (or straightforward!).

We provide professional contact lens fitting for a full range of prescriptions, and have a varied range of frames and lenses available to suit every requirement. Direct Debit is available for glasses, contact lenses and examinations.

Report
The OCT takes 3D scans of crucial parts of the retina; each scan taking less than a second. OCT shows us the whole depth of the retina. Being able to see 'through' the retina means we can pick up changes in your eyes that may not normally be seen during a routine eye examination, such as early glaucoma, nerve damage, macular degeneration, retinal cysts, detachments and subretinal fluid... the list goes on! Thankfully most eyes we see are perfectly normal. However, having an OCT scan of the eye when perfectly healthy gives us valuable baseline information for comparison at future visits. Should anything change, we can pick it up quickly.
