Excellent and detailed care and attention given during the appointment for both my contacts and glasses. I was very pleased with the technology available in the practice, the attention to details and patient explanation of the eye tests and results. The staff were wonderful and helpful throughout. I went to Blackheath Eyecare on the recommendation of my eye consultant. I may be wrong on this but, among local opticians, they appear to have the best range of eye scanning equipment. Deepak took a very detailed history of my complicated eye situation and took the time to examine my eyes very thoroughly. Jo provided excellent service in providing new glasses - not pushy at all; fine with me using old frames I already had.

Super friendly, local opticians. Talked me through every step of the process from my first ever eye test at 47 years old to fitting me for my first glasses. Offered recommendations and didn't force anything on me when I said I'd feel uncomfortable in certain frames. Highly recommended personal service, thank you.

I've used Blackheath Eyecare for years, and now my children do too. They are always super-nice and friendly and go out of their way to locate hard-to-find frames or prescriptions for contact lenses. It was hard for my daughter to accept that she needed glasses at a young age, but they were so kind and offered such a range of cool-looking frames that she got over it very quickly and now looks forward to her visits. I can't recommend them enough.

I was looking for an independent optician and found the right one. Very friendly and professional help getting an appointment quickly because my glasses were broken. Joy was absolutely fantastic and managed to get my new glasses ready before my vacation. Highly recommended to go there for a professional advice. I will definitely come back.

We've had the pleasure of using Blackheath Eyecare for a number of years now for both our own eyecare and our children's. We've always found the team to be very friendly, responsive and caring and would recommend their services to anyone seeking quality, local services with the latest technology etc.

For some years I have received excellent service from Blackheath Eyecare. Annupe Tawana is highly competent and efficient. She detected my glaucoma when I had no symptoms and referred me to St Thomas' Glaucoma Clinic thereby saving my vision.

I was very pleased and impressed with my eye examination. I have had many eye examinations elsewhere but on no occasion did the optician share the findings with me. Annupe explained clearly and in detail what as going on, , illustrating her explanation with the photographs she had taken. I feel so much more confident now about getting new glasses. And I know that when it comes to frames and lenses I shall be ably advised by Jo and shall have a good selection of stylish frames to choose from.

Definitely would recommend. The team were excellent all round raising knowledge and awareness. In my experience they beat other well known opticians by far. The first set of frames Jo picked up were the ones that were suitable, that should say it all, especially when I prefer contact lenses. I'll actually wear these. Thanks

I go to Blackheath Eye Care for both my daughter and I and we always got a fantastic welcome and service from all the team (Susie, Jade, Jo and Deepak). The eye examination was very thorough and the lenses are great quality.

My eye test was thorough and the prescription is good. The staff are friendly and very good at helping to choose suitable frames. One satisfied customer!

Had the most wonderful experience with Jade at Blackheath Eyecare. Thoroughly a five star experience from start to finish. From my first enquiry via email, there was an almost immediate response and the professional and fantastic customer experience continued from there. Beautiful and quality eye wear of all kinds available and both of my appointments were conducted in a really covid safe way. Having tried 3 local opticians over the years I was recommended to Blackheath Eyecare by a friend. Superb opticians with 3 highly qualified optometrists and state of the art equipment not seen in other local practices. My examination was extremely thorough and results explained clearly to me in layman's terms. This equalled the service and treatment received in Moorfields Private Clinic so very impressed and reassured. Lenses by Nikon top quality and the dispensing optician's knowledge & advice ensured best choice of lens, tint, fitting & measurement for varifocal lenses. Superb fit and very comfortable. Staff welcoming and their website a hive of useful information on all optical issues.

I was initially searching for a place where I can just upgrade my current glasses. This is when I saw this Blackheath eyecare and booked an appointment with Jade. I was really excited and happy: I had one whole hour devoted just to me during which I could try almost everything in the store. I should say that the choice was quite a difficult one since everything in this store is hand picked as far as I understand so all frames met my expectations- they were quite light and trendy, let alone of different colours. Jade has been of great assistance and helped me to narrow my choice to two frames both of which I bought after long consideration.

In one week, when I came after the glasses, everything was there for me and I was even more excited about the frames since I realised that I made a choice which was perfect for me. Special thanks to Jade for helping me out, she's really devoted to what she's doing and also has great knowledge about each piece in the store. Would highly recommend these opticians to everyone! Should also note that the prices are quite pleasant and affordable, especially given the vast choice available.

I've been to Blackheath Eyecare a number of times now with various issues, and have always been delighted with their service. Initially I attended for some advice on contact lenses. I was very apprehensive about this, as I hated the very thought of even touching my eyes! However Jade was an amazing teacher and gave me as much time as I needed to practice putting in the lenses, which I can now do with ease. All the staff at Blackheath Eyecare are very polite and charming and have no end of patience and knowledge in helping you with your questions. Totally recommended!

I am a big fan of Blackheath Eyecare and have used them for years. Generally I see Ravi who is endlessly patient, helpful and kind. I had some problems a couple of years ago which meant that reluctantly I have had to change from wearing contact lenses to glasses. I needed a new pair recently - given my prescription it’s a fair old investment - Aimee and Jade really engages with me to find a great option.

They went to great lengths to find me the right pair to advise me on the best shapes/sizes that would work with my prescription as well as listening to what I wanted in terms of style. They called me when a new selection of frames arrived and picked out a selection for me to try when I came in. I ended up with a really stylish pair of glasses that I feel good about wearing.

Very impressed with my last visit to this Practice. Firstly by the Optician who, when I asked her to make my prescription stronger and bigger, she took time to really check my vision. She went to great lengths to explain to me - and practically show and prove to me - that it was not always the best option. Amazingly, she showed me that by going bigger (which is what I thought I wanted), it would also make my vision even more blurred.

Proof was to be believed. Secondly, I was very impressed with a Technician, Aimee, who took loads of time helping me chose the right glasses for me. Her positivity was enchanting and, surprisingly, she helped me believe in myself. She was attentive, didn’t rush me and was excellent with her knowledge of glasses and, in my humble view, was honest with me and she promised she would not let me leave without the perfect glasses for me, my personality, my job, my lifestyle, my colouring. Well impressed, Thank you.

Blackheath Eyecare is an excellent practice! They are all friendly and patient and knowledgeable and never make things seem rushed. They truly have your sight at the top of their priorities, and take their time to sit and explain the details to you, even showing pictures and explaining what they can see to you. Ravi has a natural comforting poise and makes sitting in the chair relaxing rather than nerve racking. Highly recommend, I wouldn't go anywhere else
