There are hundreds of contact lenses on the market and the choice of what to go for can seem daunting but we will carry out a full assessment and consultation with the patient. We will discuss the various types and establish what the best option is for the individual's lifestyle requirements. Contact lenses don't have to be worn full time and are a great alternative to glasses for sports, social occasions and holidays. We have a great track record in fitting previously unsuccessful wearers of contact lenses.
Good vision is essential in childhood development and regular eye examinations are the key to good vision. Research has shown that one in five school children have an undetected eye problem. As 80% of a child's learning occurs visually, many children cannot see well enough to reach their full potential or enjoy everyday childhood activities as much as they could.
Ocular Coherence Tomography is an advanced eye scan for people of all ages. Similar to ultrasound, OCT uses light rather than sound waves to illustrate the different layers that make up the back of the eye. This particular 3D OCT unit captures a digital photograph of the surface of the eye at the same time and this can be cross referenced across any areas of concern.

It took me a while to post this review about Vaid opticians. I was pondering if it was worth it. I decided it is worth. The people are nice but it's not about being good people. It's the quality of opticians you get. I went for a new prescription and contact lenses. BOTH my prescriptions were wrong. I got the glasses and felt uncomfortable with them from the day I got them and also the contact lenses.
I couldn't see properly, to the extent that I couldn't see behind my vehicle while I was driving. I decided to go and get a second opinion. Both my prescriptions were wrong. I went back and told them there was a difference in my prescription and that with the one I got somewhere else I could see better. The contact lenses I had time to fix as I was still on trial.
They gave me the "new" prescription to try, letting me know that they couldn't keep giving me free contact lenses. That I had to agree on the prescription. But unfortunately for my glasses they didn't own their mistake and I am now left to change and pay for new lenses. The glasses I got weren't cheap and they gave me headaches. Their equipment is old fashioned and dirty. I had to ask a few times for the lenses to be cleaned.

I have been bringing my children here for years. Manish and the rest of the staff are very professional and friendly. They are particularly great with the children and I feel confident that my children are getting the best care for their eyes. There is a large selection of children's specs and my daughter is always excited with the choice of colours!
I am diabetic and usually have the full range of diabetic checks and I am always left reassured with the additional checks. I find the team are particularly helpful and personable.

Manish is a lovely guy and a knowledgable optometrist, very caring and friendly. The frame choice is excellent, compared with other opticians in the area, their frame choice is far superior.
