I had an amazing experience with Tracey who helped sort out my 6 month old little girl with glasses that actually fit her (another opticians had horrifically let us down). She went above an beyond. She called us to update us about step of the way as she knew I was keen to get things sorted asap. She also went out of her way to look into eligibility for funding for a 2nd specialist pair of glasses as a spare and gave us the info we needed to try and get that sorted. I'm so thankful for the experience I had here and I am looking forward to go back each and every time my little girl needs a new pair!

Absolutely world class service, had the eye test and received the complete glasses with new lens by post in London in just over a week. Perfect service, guidance and advice l never thought that this would be possible within such a tight time schedule during our time in England. Following a routine eye examination my optician informed me I have narrow chambers in both eyes. He made a referral immediately to the hospital. I have seen an ophthalmologist who will be operating on both eyes in the coming weeks as my condition is so severe. This condition presents no symptoms and my eye examination has potentially saved my sight. I am so extremely grateful to optician, Pratik Patel. Sincere thanks.

I visited here recently with my child for a sight test and wasn't impressed for a couple of reasons, however after calling to cancel a follow up appointment as it was no longer convenient and the receptionist telling me she'd be informing the hospital (?!) I certainly will not be returning! I was completely bemused and when I queried it with her she wouldn't give me an explanation and couldn't get me off of the phone quick enough, not impressed at all so we will be going elsewhere in future.

I highly recommend Bethell & Clark. Having previously used a well known High St opticians their service and products just do not compare to Bethell & Clark. From the eye examination through to receiving my glasses and contacts the customer service is impeccable. The choice of frames for myself and my children is extensive and as they have a glazing lab in house I received my glasses within 24hours. The professionalism from all staff members is outstanding and made the whole experience enjoyable for all my family.

I called in yesterday because I am suffering from blurry eye vision and sudden loss of vision with my reading glasses on. I also said that a senior clinical pharmacist referred me. At first I was denied an appointment and was told to go to specsavers again and then offered a booking appointment in April. This is negligence and unresponsible action from whoever answered the phone. My eye vision case is a priority and serious situation; I should have been booked an appointment in 24 hrs time.

Collected my glasses, always pleased with the service would not go any where else but i do wish the ladies on reception would smile more especially the lady with the dark hair that sat in the middle of the three on the reception today she did make me feel she did not want to deal with me and i was taking up her time there was no chatting or smile i was just told how much i owed, my money taken and that was it which was disappointing but other than that first class service. Appointments are on time and glasses always ready when they say they will be and a text to let you know that your glasses are ready is very handy.

Have just purchased two pairs of glasses from Bethell and Clark and felt very satisfied with their professionalism and customer service. I had come to them them after a bed experience with a local chain opticians and wish I had gone there first. The lenses, frames and coatings offered are far superior to that of local multiple chains and the prices are very competitive too! Ian helped me to choose two pairs of glasses that were right for my needs and shape of my face. highly recommend!

Without a doubt the best Opticians in Colchester, if not Essex! Great staff, all local, with a real family feel. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my eye tests or glasses. The optometrists are 1st class and the receptionists are lovely. The dispensing opticians really know their onions and are always happy to help, even after I have purchased.

I took my 3 year old daughter here to have her first eye test. The lady who tested her eyes was very good and made my daughter feel at ease and enjoy her first experience of going to an opticians. She then subsequently needed a further appointment and glasses. The optical consultant; Ian was very good with helping my daughter choose her glasses, talking to her at her level and making her laugh.
We saw Ian again once the glasses had come in and again he was very good at making my daughter feel at ease and talking to her at her level as to how to wear and care for her glasses. Thank you Bethell and Clark for making my daughters first experience of an opticians a really positive one.

First visit - in short, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Despite an afternoon appointment, I wasn't kept waiting and so was even more surprised that the optometrist took his time with the examination and explained everything as it progressed. The professionalism of the gentleman who took me through lens and frame choices afterwards was exemplary and he clearly knows his trade and how to look after his customers.
