We do not use locum Optometrists. Our permanent team of three experienced Optometrists are focussed on providing the best care for you. They work on 30 minute slots allowing plenty of time for examination, explanation and discussion of your needs. We have excellent relations with the local eye department and GPs and we are Welsh Eyecare Service accredited providing a triage service for the hospital eye department.
Our dispensing and receptionist team have all been with us for 5 years +. The continuity of service they provide means you will not be talking to a stranger every time you see us - we know most of our clients and understand their particular needs.

Our experienced, stable team know our clients and are dedicated to providing the best service possible. David qualified in 1988 and worked in a contact lens practice in London. He then managed practices in Australia and Zimbabwe before moving to the Wrexham area with his wife, Rachel, in 1995. He took over Schwarz in 1999 and has worked with the staff to try and provide the best Optometry service in the area.
People aged 40 or over who are the brother, sister or child of a diagnosed glaucoma patient. Everyone should have an eye examination every two years as it is a vital health check. If you are eligible for free NHS eye examinations, and it is less than two years since your last test, then you should check with your optician when you make an appointment to find out if you can have another free NHS eye examination.
Myopia is the number one reason people need glasses or contact lenses and it is typically first noticed in teenage years. A common complaint is not being able to see the board at school. Short sighted prescriptions are minus numbers i.e. In order to see perfectly the light/image entering your eye must fall exactly onto your retina.
